We reached out to some members of the Dermadry community and asked them about their hyperhidrosis story and their Dermadry journey. Below is Andy's hyperhidrosis story!
Prior to using this treatment on my hands, hyperhidrosis was severely impeding my ability to carry out daily tasks. It was something I often thought about when I was out, which really only made it worse. During meetings, for example, the whole time I was just thinking about shaking their hand, and how soaked my hand would be. Constantly worrying about sweating makes for really unfortunate and unenjoyable situations. Job interviews are really challenging when your hands are constantly sweaty, as the person interviewing you will immediately think you are nervous, even if you are not. This can significantly affect your chances of succeeding in the interview and getting the job. I'm sure it also affects many people’s job paths in negative ways, like musicians, or really anyone who works a really hands-on job.
I suffer from moderate palmar (hand) hyperhidrosis. It definitely wasn't mild, but the sweat also wasn't dripping off, so not extremely severe. My hands were always moist and shiny, including the sides of my fingertips. If I would put my hand on a desk, for example, it would leave a wet handprint behind. It’s very debilitating, especially when you think about the fact that we use our hands for everything.
When I first got the device, I did a hand treatment every day for about 2.5 weeks. After 2.5 weeks, my hands were pretty much sweat-free—it was incredible! To upkeep my results, I do a maintenance treatment every 5-6 days. That's it, 20 minutes every 5-6 days and I get to have sweat-free hands! Keep in mind, I was sweating all along the sides of my fingers, and that is now gone too! In fact, I actually look forward to the treatment, I put on the TV and relax for 20 minutes, it's very simple and both the setup and cleanup just take 2 minutes!
I first heard about iontophoresis when I was doing some research online for treatment for palmar hyperhidrosis. I then reviewed this treatment approach that utilizes water, and discovered all the positive reviews! I figured since my hands were always soaking wet, that it could really only get better from here. I am extremely pleased with this treatment and happy that it has worked 100% for me. It was even better than I anticipated. When I rub my hands together in public, it's unreal to feel them be completely dry as if I'm touching the back of my hand, rather than my palms.
I now have completely dry hands, which means that during job interviews, I can finally focus on the contents of the interview, rather than sitting there being terrified of giving the interviewer a handshake. A handshake generally concludes an interview and therefore will be the last thing the interviewer remembers. A clammy handshake is a horrible way to end an interview, even if you were confident and succeeded in the interview. I now feel confident that they will remember me for the interview itself, not my sweaty handshake.
For those with hyperhidrosis, I would definitely suggest trying Dermadry. However, if you are currently suffering, I’d say try to focus as much as you can on the interview questions rather than your hands. I know this is easier said than done, I've been there, but do your best.
Dermadry has completely changed my life. It was a horrible feeling to look at people wipe their hands on their pants after shaking my hand. It was a terrible feeling for both of us, really. I once had a person ask me if I was unwell, as they thought I had the flu or something because of my sweaty hands. Now, my hands are completely dry, which is something I never thought I would experience. I really thought I would have hyperhidrosis for the rest of my life. I had gone to dermatologists who had given me creams that were useless, and they didn't have any genuine answers for treatment. I felt safe using Dermadry and it was easy to use and now I'm hyperhidrosis-free. I cannot tell you how much it has changed my life to go from soaked shiny palms (to the point where it was almost physically painful) to having dry palms.
Anyone suffering from this condition will know exactly what I mean, and I would be stunned if they were not willing to give this treatment a shot. I've been where they have been and I know they would love to experience dry hands as well. And I can promise them that it is very much possible!
Thank you Dermadry, keep up the great product and service. We need as many people as possible to be treated for this unfortunate condition!
