April Fools—we’re just kidding, of course! If you suffer from hyperhidrosis, there’s no such thing as too dry. No amount of hand washing or use of hand sanitizer could ever get between a hyperhidrosis sufferer and their excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis has nothing to do with hygiene, and all to do with an uncontrollable, excessive amount of sweat production, as a result of an overreaction of the body’s internal functioning.
In unprecedented and confusing times like these, it’s important to try and remain positive and level-headed. It’s not much, but hyperhidrosis sufferers can take some comfort in the fact that now, the whole world seems to agree that handshakes and other social contact were never a good idea!
Come back here tomorrow to read our blog on social distancing and hyperhidrosis. Social distancing is a new term for many, but what it entails is nothing new for hyperhidrosis sufferers, and is really more of a well-established lifestyle and daily reality.
On behalf of all the Dermadry team, stay safe, stay strong, stay home, and stay dry!
P.S. If your hands really are too dry, be sure to use a moisturizing lotion, but please continue practicing washing your hands for 20 seconds, or using hand sanitizer when hand washing is not possible.
